Muslims
are blessed with not one but two Eid Occasions during the Islamic year. The
first one is Eid-ul-Fitr which symbolises the conclusion of the Holy Month of
Ramadan. The second is Eid-ul-Adha which commemorates the Pilgrimage of Hajj, a
spiritual journey that Islam has made compulsory on all able Muslims.
Follow the below steps:
Eid Ul Adha namaz ki Niyat
- Niyat ki maine 2 rakat namaz Wajib Eid Ul Adha ki, Zahid 6 Takbiro ke, Muh Kaaba shareef ki taraf, Picha is Imam ke, Allah o Akbar
- Make intention for Eid-ul-Adha for two Rakats Wajib as above and then lift your hands up to your ears and say ‘Allahu Akbar’ and then fold them below the navel as normal.
- Now pray ‘Sana’ and then say Allahu Akbar and lift your hands up to your ears and release them and again lift your hands and say Allahu Akbar and release them again and then lift your hands again and say Allahu Akbar and then fold them.
- This means fold your hands after the first and fourth Takbeer and in the second and third Takbeers release your hands. The best way to remember is that if the Imam shall recite after the Takbeer then fold your hands and when he shall not recite (after a Takbeer) release your hands and hang them on the side.
- After folding your hands after the fourth Takbeer the Imam will silently recite ‘A’udhubillah’ and ‘Bismillah’ and then he will pray Surah al-Fatiha (‘Alhamd Sharif’) and a Surat loudly and then go into Ruku and Sijdah and (thus,) complete one Rak’at (unit).
- Then in the second Rak’at the Imam will first pray the Alhamdu and a Surat then lift your hands to your ears and say Allahu Akbar and release them; and do not fold them and repeat this twice. Therefore a total of three times the Takbeer shall be said. On the fourth time say Allahu Akbar and without lifting your hands go into Ruku.
- Eid-ul-Adha Celebration is performed on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah
according to the Islamic Calendar
- It can be performed any time after sunrise but before
Zuhr prayer
- Muslims prepare themselves for this day following the
Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This includes:
-Performing Wudhu (ablution) and
offering Fajr prayer
-Taking extra special care of personal cleanliness and of their clothing
-Dressing up by wearing new clothes
- Eid prayers are offered in congregationally large
gatherings representing unity, and consist of two Rakats
- A Khutba (sermon) follows the prayer. It is compulsory
to listen to it. It can be anywhere around 15-20 minutes long
- After Eid-ul-Adha Prayers, Muslims perform the Qurbani
ritual, which entails sacrificing a goat, cow or buffalo. The Qurbani meat
is then divided into three portions. One part is for their family, the
second part is for their neighbour and finally the third part is for the
poor. In retrospect, Islam teaches us to feed the hungry, the less
privileged and to look out for the well-being of our neighbours
- Following the sermon, Muslims embrace and exchange greetings of well wishes. Children often get gifts. Families visit each other. It is a day to rejoice.
With
Eid-ul-Adha and its festivities successfully concluded, everyone is getting
back to their normal work routines. May Allah (SWT) bless this honoured
occasion and accept the Qurbani of hundreds of millions of Muslims around the
world.
Why do we celebrate Eid ul Adha? How do you split Qurbani?
Who Can Receive Qurbani Meat? Meat from Qurbani animals should be distributed equally in three parts. It should be given to the family, friends and the poor (both Muslim and non-Muslim alike). If you perform Qurbani with a partner/partners, the meat should be shared by weight, not by approximation.
The
festival celebrates a story about a prophet called Ibrahim (Abraham). ... Every
year, Muslims celebrate Eid al-Adha to remember
Ibrahim's loyalty and obedience to Allah above all others. And because of
Ibrahim's actions, Eid al-Adha is also known as the
Festival of Sacrifice.
What is Eid Adha Mubarak?
Eid
Mubarak or
(Arabic: عيد مبارك) is an Arabic term that means “Blessed Feast/festival”. ...
Internationally Muslims use it as a greeting for use on the festivals of Eid
al-Adha and Feid-Fitr. Eid means
"Celebration", and Mubarak (derived from the Semitic
root B-R-K) means "Blessed".
