The Story of Prophet Noah’s Ark

Noah was Allah’s first Prophet after Adam. Polytheism was rife in his time. After Adam, there would always be some good people to call those who strayed from the correct path make statues of them. The original reason for making these statues was to make people remember back to the truth. After the good men’s lives ended, Satan persuaded those who thought highly of them to to worship Allah.
Nevertheless, as time went by, people forgot what the statues had been made for. They started worshipping them, making Satan’s wicked plot successful. Thus started the practice of idolatry, and when Noah was sent to earth, idol worship was overwhelmingly prevalent.

Prophet Noah Preaches to his People

Nuh (AS) was the first Messenger Allah sent to earth. His preaching lasted for an incredible 950 years, which showed how patient and committed he was. He would warn the idolaters of the severe torment that awaited them if they didn’t pay heed to his call. He called them to the truth during both the day and the night. He also preached in public and in private. He persevered despite the terrible attitude of the stubborn disbelievers who refused to embrace the truth.
Indeed, (Prophet Noah Story) Noah’s preaching was widely ignored and rejected. Only a small number of people took his warnings seriously and embraced monotheism. The rich and powerful were arrogant and set in their ways. They refused to take Noah seriously, resorting to insults and rudeness. The wealthy disbelievers also asked him to discard his poor followers if he wanted them to be on his side.
The polytheists persisted in their disobedience, asking what made an ordinary person like Noah worthy of Prophethood. They also belittled him for only convincing the poor people with his message. We see in Surah Nuh how rebellious and disrespectful the idolaters were, as they would stuff their fingers in their ears when Nuh (AS) was preaching to them.

Noah Builds the Ark to Prepare for the Great Flood

Noah ultimately realized that the disbelievers would not correct their ways and were only going to ensure that disbelief continued to prevail in the land. He feared for the future of the small community of believers and asked Allah to wipe out the disbelieving people. Allah responded to his dua and instructed him to construct an ark. Noah encountered much ridicule from the idolaters as he built the ark away from water.
When the ark was ready, Noah waited for Allah’s Command. As the downpour started, Noah boarded the ship with his family, the believers, and male and female pairs of each animal, bird, and insect. The disbelievers watched in utter confusion. Noah’s wife and eldest son were disbelievers and didn’t join him.

The Great Flood Purifies the Earth of Disbelief

Gigantic waves, which were more massive than mountains, took the life of Noah’s son. He had tried to secure himself on top of a mountain but to no avail. When Noah asked about his son, Allah responded by castigating him and stating that disbelievers should not be seen as family. Noah asked for Allah’s Pardon and was granted it.
Eventually, there was no sign of idol-worship left, and Allah brought the Great Flood to an end. Noah and the believers disembarked the ship. Noah freed all the insects, birds, and animals. The story of Prophet Noah’s ark shows us that obeying Allah and always having strong faith in Him is imperative.
